The Emergence of AI and Next Level Achievements of Technology

A few Years back when Google invested more than $500 Million to learn more about deep learning not many people were notified about this like we usually are when Kardashian’s endorse a new brand on their Instagram account. Well, the truth is, nobody yet has been able to measure the danger that Artificial Intelligence may unfold. To be very honest, even right now there may be so many tech giants around the world who are secretly conducting researching on this topic. Many theories called it a period of transition in human history.

I wonder, is really investing a number like $500 million worth for something that we don’t know how it could turn out? I found the answer to this when Bernard explored the possibilities of how Artificial Intelligence can change the world of education. In part One we realize that broadly speaking, the amalgamation of the internet and technology has made people more and more aware of their surrounding in a way human knew about each other before. Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Apple sure have made our lives easy, however, it’s time we use them to solve problems that are a greater danger to mankind.

The most important purpose of technology in today’s world is Artificial Intelligence (AI) or more specifically Machine Learning (ML). At least, that is where the scientist and scholars believe is going to be the new chapter in the history of technology. In a nut shell, ML enables a machine to keep improving its performance without humans having to explain explicitly how to do a specific task. The rise of this new discipline can be attributed to two factors, Human becoming more aware and at the same time, ML systems are proving to be excellent learners. The biggest advances in AI in recent years have been in the areas of perception and cognition. Great progress has been made in speech recognition. Image recognition is also improving rapidly. In cognition and problem solving too, machines are getting better and better.

“Sprint, one of the USA’s largest mobile carriers, was able to achieve a 10% reduction in mobile subscriber churn using Artificial Intelligence. That system was up and running in just 13 weeks. Using an agile approach and a quick win mentality, results can happen in months, not years.”

The report further mentioned the importance of data analytics’ that helps to develop the algorithms that establishes how the automated system will work. This data is the kind of research that Google need by hiring “Marketing Research Scientists, Health Sciences”. The authors conclude by stating “Artificial intelligence has enormous potential to affect our lives in positive ways. For consumers, it can automate monotonous tasks and assist in difficult ones. For businesses, it can provide a competitive edge, differentiate products and services, and even contribute to success or failure. As humans on both sides of this commercial marketplace, we are in control – meaning we are responsible for the actions of our machines. We must feed them, program them, and monitor them wisely, or face hidden and overt consequences.”
