The Internet has changed the game for all of us. The Gen x as Josh’s forbs article describes baby boomers or people born between the early 1960’s to late 1980’s are most likely to be the one who dislike the digital world. But honestly, once they start using it they too love it! Communicating with the whole world’ is only made possible due to the internet. In other words, connecting with like and alike minded people, connecting with people who cannot speak the same language as you, more importantly being connected with people who mean the most to you is all made possible only after the advent of Google, Facebook Amazon & Apple’s secret meeting which according to Jeffery Cole never happened #NoPunsIndented.

Internet with a combination of technology has made millions of things possible for all of us and as time goes by we are depending on it more and more to make our lives easier. However, a large amount of our efforts is invested in accomplishing things that may not really make the optimum use of these technologies. With the way computers are being trained to help us, we the millennial generation who are expected to use the internet more than ever should really understand what’s good and what’s not so good for us when it comes to using technology. The way Pranav Mistry describes how we would want his inventions and discovery to become really stuns me. As a matter of fact, he was giving this Ted Talk back in 2009, we have traveled 10 years already from that day when half of what he explains was just a vision. I wonder where are we now?

Millions of years ago we lived in a time where it was common to lose our dear once due to illness which today are totally curable and non-life-threatening conditions. Doctors like Gerald Grant have acknowledged the importance of sharing knowledge using digital mediums in order to build his case from all possible resources available worldwide. Not just doctor Grant but Doctor Shafi Ahmed’s methods of healing his people have made him the new cool worldwide. It’s not the cool part that he is proud about but the fact that he is able to reach people from different parts of the world that may need guidance from doctors like him.

Most of what we currently learn from our school is aided by technology. There’s are a reason why Wayne State felt the need of switching from Blackboard to canvas and, as a matter of fact, Canvas is proving to be a much more straightforward software for students then Blackboard (at least I feel so). For me technology is the most important when it comes down to communication. It has amazed me the most to see how differently humans have begun to communicate due to technology so be it student-professor communication. Susan J. Deeley in her article explains, these new methods of communication influenced by technology have altered the way students have started to received feedback from teachers and it was a good response. Using technology has also facilitated a dialog approach to assessment and feedback. Such dialogue reinforces the notion of assessment for learning and is conducive to sustainable and deep learning.

The reason why anything that falls under or is related to “technology” becomes a pretty big deal is because humans of the future, that is the millennials as Monica and Jinging describes, know nothing but technology. The humans of the future find themselves more comfortable communicating via social platforms as the report describes “YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat are the most popular online platforms among teens. Fully 95% of teens have access to a smartphone, and 45% say they are online 'almost constantly'” For companies the “making more profit strategies have become more complex as they are not only competing with their competitors offline but also online. Thanks to Search Engine Optimization!.

Just recently while browsing through Linked In a job posting popped up on my screen. Google is looking for “Marketing Research Scientists, Health Sciences” that’s right, marketing research. The job description mentioned that the hired person would contribute how a user would be helped more if they are looking for anything even remotely related to Health Sciences filed. The reason why a company as big as Google felt the need of investing in something like that is because technology has begun to contribute within fields that deals with human life. That’s how much we believe in the internet today.
